Job summary

Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver, CO, is seeking a part-time Radiology Technologist to join our Intermountain Health team. This PRN role offers flexible scheduling with meaningful patient care, imaging procedures, and a focus on safety and quality under ARRT standards.

Responsibilities include producing radiographs, operating portable x-ray equipment, processing images, and maintaining equipment and records.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of an approved radiological training program and ARRT registry eligibility.
  • Current license/certification in state of practice.
  • Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association.
  • At least one year of experience in a setting serving the same age/type of patient population.

  • Protect patients from undue exposure to radiation by using lead shields and various safety factors.
  • Prepare and assist in administering contrast agents by monitoring dosages and determining any potential allergies.
  • Maintain patient information as needed by purging or updating patient film jackets and/or filing reports or film files to ensure accurate patient records.
  • Maintain imaging and processing equipment by performing scheduled cleanings and tests and documenting results.

Essential Functions:


  • Produce x‑ray images of specified body areas as directed by the physician or radiologist ensuring clear and undistorted films. Position and instruct patients regarding x‑ray procedures.


  • Perform x‑ray procedures using portable machines as requested by the Emergency Department and nursing units.


  • Process films for radiologists reading/interpretation following established procedures.


  • Prepare or clean patient rooms by changing linens, stocking supplies and wiping off tables and equipment ensuring an efficient and clean working environment.


  • Protect patients from undue exposure to radiation by using lead shields and various safety factors.


  • Prepare and assist in administering contrast agents by monitoring dosages and determining any potential allergies ensuring compliance with department policies and procedures.


  • Maintain patient information as needed by purging or updating patient film jackets and/or filing reports or film files to ensure accurate patient records.


  • Maintain imaging and processing equipment by performing scheduled cleanings and tests and documenting results. Contact service personnel and notify supervision of malfunctioning equipment.



Qualifications:


  • High School diploma or equivalent, required.


  • Successful completion of an approved radiological training program and the ability to meet the requirements for registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), required.


  • Current license/certification in the state of practice, (if applicable) required.


  • Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association, required


  • At least one (1) year of experience in a setting serving the same age/type of patient population served by this facility or department, preferred.
