Job summary

Avera is seeking an experienced Radiology Technician – MRI to provide high-quality MRI and radiographic imaging under physician direction. You will operate MRI equipment, prepare patients, administer contrast when needed, and maintain records in line with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities include patient positioning, performing MRI exams, coordinating daily imaging schedules, training staff, maintaining logs, and reporting on device performance.

Qualifications

  • An associate degree or equivalent from a radiologic technology program.
  • ARRT certification in Radiography (R) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) on hire.
  • Excellent communication and ability to follow procedures independently.

Job Summary

Radiology Technician – MRI Specialty This role provides high‑quality MRI and other radiographic imaging services under the direction of physicians. The technician operates MRI equipment, prepares patients, administers contrast media, and maintains image and patient records in compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients and adjust equipment for MRI procedures, including patient positioning and instruction.
  • Perform MRI examinations accurately and efficiently, following established standards and protocols.
  • Manage daily imaging schedules to optimize workflow and assess exam completion.
  • Assist in the training and orientation of staff and students, and support MRI class preparation.
  • Maintain all required MRI records, including patient, volume, and equipment logs.
  • Provide detailed reports to management on procedure performance and equipment status.
  • Consult with radiologists, physicians, and other patient‑care staff regarding exam details and specialized protocols.
  • Monitor IV contrast administration, ensuring patient safety and tracking contrast usage.
  • Assist with data collection and reporting for quality assurance, accreditation, and regulatory compliance (Joint Commission, OSHA, etc.).
  • Support safety, infection control, and departmental policy enforcement.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from a 2‑year college, technical school, or hospital‑based radiologic technology program.
  • ARRT certification in Radiography (R) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) upon hire.
  • Excellent visual acuity, reliable communication skills, and the ability to follow procedures independently.
  • At least 1 year of experience in MRI or thorough knowledge of radiology terminology, anatomy, and procedures.
  • Priority given to candidates with 1–3 years of MRI experience.
  • Flexibility to work days with evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Ability to conduct daily safety and quality checks and adhere to safety regulations.
