Geisinger is seeking an MRI Technologist for their community medical center in Scranton, PA. The role involves using MRI technology for diagnostic purposes, acquiring and analyzing data, and ensuring patient safety during imaging procedures.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologists are responsible for the use of radiofrequencies within a magnetic field for diagnostic, therapeutic or research purposes.
MRI technologists perform magnetic resonance imaging and acquire and analyze data needed for diagnosis at the request of and for interpretation by a licensed practitioner.
MRI technologists independently perform or assist the licensed practitioner in completing magnetic resonance imaging procedures.
They prepare, administer and document activities related to medications in accordance with federal and state laws, regulations, or lawful institutional policy.
Certifications required upon hire: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) – MR certification (ARRT‑MR) or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT). Additional certifications such as Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) may be beneficial.
Education: Graduate from Specialty Training Program—Radiologic Technology (Required); Bachelor’s Degree—Related Field of Study (Preferred).
Experience: Minimum of 2 years related work experience (Required).
Certifications and Licenses: Basic Life Support; Certified MRI Technologist (ARMRIT); Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT); Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist RT(R)(MR) (ARRT); Radiography (R) (ARRT).
Essential skills include patient care, image acquisition and analysis, safety protocols, medication administration, and support of interventional procedures.
