Qualifications

• Obtain correct orders, verify patient identity, and document clinical history.
• Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and ensure safety.
• Prepare/administer medications as prescribed, evaluate image quality, and handle data transfer.
• Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers, applying safety principles.
• Assist with MRI interventional procedures and select appropriate pulse sequences.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and demonstrate proficiency in routine and complex tasks.

MRI Technologists use radiofrequencies within a magnetic field to perform diagnostic, therapeutic, or research imaging. They acquire and analyze data for diagnosis, prepare and administer medications, and assist licensed practitioners in MRI procedures. They ensure patient safety, proper identification, and accurate imaging while following safety protocols and ALARA principles.
