Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University Health System seeks a Radiology Technologist Diagnostic II in Colonial Orthopedics. The role administers ionizing radiation for diagnostic imaging, collaborates with LIP, adheres to ALARA, and provides patient care while mentoring students in the Radiology environment.

The candidate must hold ARRT-R, BLS for Healthcare Providers, and have at least 1 year of experience; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT-R)
• Current ARRT Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• One year of prior work experience
• Graduation from a JRC Accredited Radiologic Technology program

Responsibilities

• Perform radiographic procedures and determine exposure factors.
• Assist licensed independent practitioner with fluoroscopic and specialized procedures.
• Maintain ALARA principles to minimize exposure for patient and staff.
• Educate and mentor students in the Radiology environment.
• Participate in ongoing quality assurance activities.
