Job summary

Ochsner Baptist is looking for a Radiology Technologist to perform routine radiographic procedures and mentor junior staff. The role requires ARRT certification or registry eligibility, a completed radiologic technology program, and a current state license with BLS.

Responsibilities include operating imaging equipment, verifying orders, ensuring image quality, and supporting department operations while maintaining patient safety and privacy. Flexibility for varied shifts will be needed.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved radiologic technology program.
• Current ARRT certification or registry eligible with 90 days to obtain full ARRT registration.
• Current state professional license and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician orders and procedures to ensure accuracy.
• Operates radiology equipment and completes imaging procedures per protocol.
• Explains procedures to patients to ensure understanding and comfort.
• Reviews and ensures diagnostic quality of images prior to transmission.
• Maintains radiology information systems for patient care facilitation.
• Assists in department operations such as inventory, scheduling and equipment upkeep.
