Job summary

Ochsner Health System is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform radiographic procedures and mentor junior staff. This role requires completion of an approved radiologic technology program and ARRT certification or registry eligibility within 90 days, along with an active BLS certification.

The candidate must be able to work a flexible schedule, travel between facilities, and adhere to safety protocols and regulatory standards. This position is based in New Orleans, LA.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved radiologic technology program.
• ARRT certification or registry eligibility within 90 days of employment; valid state license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician order and procedure to ensure accuracy.
• Uses radiology information systems to facilitate care.
• Explains procedure to patient to ensure understanding.
• Independently operates equipment to complete imaging procedure according to protocol.
• Reviews patient images prior to transmission to ensure diagnostic quality.
• Completes timely quality control procedures in accordance with regulatory standards.
• Assists in the facilitation of departmental operations (inventory, staff schedules, equipment maintenance).
• Adapts behavior to the patient population and seeks consent and communicates effectively.
