Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiology program.
• ARRT Registered Technologist (R) credential.
• Florida license as General Radiographer (RAD).
• BLS certification through AHA or Red Cross.
• Knowledge of federal and state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of technical procedures applying ionizing radiation to detect pathology.
• Regulate and operate equipment.
• Review prep information with patients, explain the procedure and obtain written consent.
• Document pertinent clinical patient information, such as medical history and allergies.
• Demonstrate a calm and understanding approach to ease fear or anxiety.
• Transport patients to and from the department and coordinate with nurses.
• Interact with nursing caregivers to obtain signed consent forms and assist with exams.
• Check written orders from physicians before the procedure and document in the chart.
• Report any equipment problems, safety issues or patient complaints.
• Supply area with necessary items to perform daily tasks.
• Orient new personnel and assist in their transition to the work environment.
