Job summary

Mercy Health seeks a Radiology Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging under authorized user supervision. You will protect patients, operate imaging equipment, document procedures, and assist the licensed practitioner with fluoroscopy and radiography.

Responsibilities include verifying consent, ensuring safety, coordinating with the care team, and maintaining records. ARRT certification and BLS are required or preferred depending on location; state licensure may be preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Radiologic Technology (preferred).
• Certification and Registration with ARRT in Diagnostic Radiology (required).
• State Licensure (preferred, depending on location).
• BLS Basic Life Support (required at hire for some locations; preferred prior to independent patient care).
• 1 year experience in radiation safety and patient care (preferred).
• Experience with Radiology Information System (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient history and labs; document for licensed practitioners.
• Position and immobilize patients to optimize imaging.
• Apply radiation protection principles to minimize exposure.
• Perform radiographic procedures using imaging equipment.
• Verify informed consent and complete pre/post procedure documentation.
• Assist licensed practitioner with fluoroscopic and radiography procedures; maintain aseptic technique.
• Perform timeout as required by policy.
• Identify, prepare and/or administer medications/contrast as prescribed.
