Job description

Salary range: $34.28 – $47.99 hourly. Placement depends on relevant experience and internal equity. For union positions, placement follows the collective bargaining agreement.

Sign‑on bonus: $15,000 paid in three installments.

Responsibilities

• Perform all aspects of patient care that optimize patient safety.
• Handle all stages of interventional procedures from set up to room turnover.
• Assess patient clinical data prior to procedures and provide instructions to patient or family.
• Perform sterile table set up and patient preparation following aseptic techniques.
• Assist with terminal or routine room cleans as necessary.
• Scrub in and circulate on diagnostic and advanced interventional procedures with physicians in at least one subspecialty (cardiac catheterization, IR, neuro‑IR, EP).
• Provide vascular sheath management and securement/removal as directed by the physician.
• Position and drape patient for optimal arterial or venous access.
• Assess appropriate procedure protocol and imaging method for the specific procedure type.
• Document intra‑procedural clinical data via integrated medical record and hemodynamic system.
• Assist with lifting, moving, positioning and transporting patients to and from the procedure table or room.
• Employ imaging systems and accessory devices appropriately to achieve high‑quality diagnostic data and procedural outcomes.
• Follow radiation safety practices as determined by the Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to limit exposure.
• Review and evaluate imaging results, taking corrective action as needed.
• Complete image filing and post‑processing.
• Assist with procedural scheduling and coordination.
• Maintain and clean work areas and equipment per hospital standards.
• Monitor stock and specialized inventory, anticipating needs for specific case types.
• Report equipment failures, irregularities, or repairs to supervisors or biomedical personnel promptly.
• Assist in updating and developing procedure manuals for angiography, tomography and other special radiographic procedures.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, team members and providers.
• Manage work schedule efficiently, completing tasks and assignments on time.
• Provide on‑call coverage for emergent procedures, responding within 30 minutes or less for cardiac, interventional radiology and neurointerventional radiology procedures.

Qualifications – Required

• Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist program or an Associate Degree in Applied Sciences.
• ARRT Certification.
• IEMA Licensure.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• ACLS certification through the American Heart Association within six months of hire.

Preferred

• Minimum of one year experience in a similar role within an active interventional cardiac catheterization, neuro‑IR, IR, or EP lab.
• Bachelor of Science Degree.
