Job summary

Newark-Wayne Community Hospital in Newark, NY is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform radiographic procedures with high-quality images and patient safety. Typical schedule is 7:30 am – 6 pm on weekdays and Saturday; on-call coverage monthly in the evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities include exam documentation, room preparation, and collaboration with radiologists. NYS license or permit required; ARRT within 1 year if licensed after 2007; BLS preferred.

Qualifications

• 2 years college certificate or equivalent.
• NYS license in Radiologic Technology required, or hold NYS permit and obtain licensure within six months of hire.
• If licensed after 2007, must obtain ARRT within 1 year of hire.
• Radiologic Technologist experience preferred.
• BLS Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Radiography of patients in all assigned areas.
• Maintain accountability for timely and proper service during unsupervised shifts.
• Document exams and procedures using RIS/PACS and inpatient charts.
• Clean, restock, and prepare rooms daily.
• Attend hospital and departmental meetings and in-services.
• Provide on-call coverage for the Diagnostic Section of Radiology.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns. Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation.
