Overview

We have an exciting employment opportunity for experienced Radiology Technologists to join our dedicated team of healthcare professionals. This role will support our Orthopedics Clinic in Fairfax, VA. It is a full-time position, 40 hours a week, from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.

Pediatric Specialists of Virginia (PSV) Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine pediatric surgeons work closely with a medical team specialized in treating infants, children, and teens with muscle, skeletal, and bone conditions and injuries.

A radiology technologist plays a vital role in a radiology department. Their main responsibilities include assisting radiologists with imaging procedures, ensuring patient safety, explaining procedures to patients, and producing high-quality images to aid diagnosis.

Job Description
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of diagnostic imaging equipment.
  • Produces high-quality radiographs with proper positioning and immobilization.
  • Sets appropriate exposure factors.
  • Ensures film quality and determines when repeats are necessary.
  • Performs exams efficiently and timely.
  • Uses lead markers for film identification.
  • Identifies radiographs with patient data.
  • Follows infection-control policies and protocols.
  • Verifies order accuracy before exams.
  • Documents patient care services and submits charges promptly.
  • Maintains equipment and adheres to safety procedures.
  • Provides respectful and professional patient care, explaining procedures and ensuring comfort.
  • Prepares and stocks exam rooms, meets appointment schedules, and follows safety regulations.
  • Minimizes radiation exposure using protection techniques.
  • Maintains equipment through preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Contributes to team efforts and performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduate of an AMA-accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • One year of clinical radiography experience in a hospital.
  • ARRT certification or eligibility.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Must pass TB, drug, and physical exams.
Desired Qualifications
  • Ability to make independent decisions and work under stress.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Experience with EMR systems.
Physical Demands

Regularly sitting, walking, talking, hearing, typing, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, and handling. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Visual requirements include near and distance vision and focus adjustment.

Schedule

Monday to Thursday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm. No weekends.

Experience

At least 1 year of clinical radiography experience in a hospital setting.
