Summary Description

Under supervision, performs diagnostic and interventional exams using appropriate imaging equipment. Verifies patient identity and reviews medical records for appropriateness.

• Interviews patients to obtain or verify medical history and assess risk factors.
• Explains procedures, including side effects, risks, benefits, and follow-up.
• Sets up equipment and acquires images as per script.
• Reviews images, makes initial observations, documents deviations, and communicates with radiologists.
• Responds to medical emergencies as needed.
• Provides post-care instructions.
• Participates in quality improvement activities.
• Provides education to residents, students, and new staff.
• May be on call/standby and perform duties of a Radiologic Technologist if needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Registered with ARRT in Radiology, Vascular-Interventional Radiography, or Cardiovascular-Interventional.
• Complete AHA BLS training by end of orientation.
• ACLS or PALS certification within specified timeframes based on work setting.
• At least one year of Radiologic Technologist experience.
