Job Responsibilities

1. Takes radiographs as per physician orders.
2. Must be versatile within the diagnostic department of Radiology.
3. Protects all patients and employees from unnecessary radiation.
4. Has knowledge of front desk operations, computer systems, and reports all equipment problems to the manager and Clinical Engineers.
5. Can schedule all exams across the department, alerting a supervisor when necessary.
6. Uses the centralized transport program for patient transportation.
7. Can look up pertinent information in computer systems regarding patient exams, including ordering, reprinting, or canceling when necessary.
8. Interacts professionally with other departments.
9. Calls in on-call imaging associates as required.
10. Reports equipment problems to the clinical engineering 24-hour contact number, communicating messages to co-workers verbally or in writing.
11. Alerts managers to all equipment issues, paging during on-call if necessary.
12. Remains available for assignments as needed.
13. Assists Radiologic Technologist Students.
14. Performs duties related to equipment quality assurance, regulatory compliance (ODH, Joint Commission), ordering supplies, scheduling staff, and audits.
15. Accesses patient records as part of normal operations for medical imaging business.

Required Skills & Experience

1. Knowledge of medical terminology, sterile techniques, and procedures.
2. Patient positioning and operation of equipment (x-ray machines and printers).

Schedule Details

Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: M-F 12p-10:30p, every other weekend 12p-10:30p with 1 week of call

Required: OR experience

Preferred: Fluoroscopy studies experience
