Job summary

HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital invites applications for a Florida-licensed Radiology Technologist to join our imaging team. As an X-Ray Tech, you will take radiographs to assist physicians in diagnoses and provide compassionate patient care.

Your tasks include high-quality image acquisition, proper patient positioning, and careful documentation in MEDITECH. Must hold AMA-approved Radiologic Technology training, ARRT certification, Florida CRT licensure, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Radiologic Technology program at an AMA-approved school.
• Valid ARRT certification.
• Clear/active Florida Department of Health CRT licensure.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Possess sound and thorough knowledge of all diagnostic radiographic procedures and related equipment including surgical, portable, trauma, general and fluoroscopic.
• Obtain high-quality radiographic and fluoroscopic images assuring only optimal images are submitted for interpretation utilizing appropriate lead markers as well as date and time stickers where indicated.
• Select proper and accurate technical factors and techniques to accommodate patients and assist in administration of contrast media.
• Prepare, transfer and position patients as needed ensuring modesty, safely utilizing auxiliary equipment and/or devices.
• Document all pertinent clinical information prior to exam, obtain informed consent, and complete all required fields within MEDITECH accurately and on time.
• Maintain proactive and effective communication with patients and caregiver colleagues to include the radiologist.
• Check the operation of the equipment, maintain cleanliness of table/equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases and keep room stocked with linens and necessary supplies.

As an X-Ray Tech on our team, you will take radiographs (x-rays) of patients which will assist physicians in diagnoses/treatment and carefully perform procedures accurately and in a compassionate and respectful manner. Qualifications:

• Graduate of a Radiologic Technology program at an AMA-approved school

• Ability to perform work which requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, and lifting of patients and/or equipment (100+/- lbs)
