Job summary

HCA Florida South Shore Hospital is seeking a Radiology Technologist for PRN coverage. You will perform diagnostic and fluoroscopic radiography, ensure high-quality images, and collaborate with radiologists and care teams.

The role requires an Associate degree, ARRT certification, Florida CRT license, and BLS certification, with 1 year of experience preferred. Commitment to patient safety, accurate MEDITECH documentation, and proper equipment maintenance are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required.
• ARRT certification required.
• Clear/active Florida Department of Health CRT licensure.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Minimum 1 year experience preferred; ability to lift up to 100 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge of diagnostic radiographic procedures and equipment (surgical, portable, trauma, general, fluoroscopic).
• Obtain high-quality radiographs and fluoroscopic images with proper markers and date/time stickers.
• Select proper technical factors and assist in contrast administration when indicated.
• Prepare, transfer and position patients, ensure modesty and safety, and maintain equipment and supplies.
• Document clinical information prior to exams and complete MEDITECH fields accurately and on time.
• Maintain communication with patients and radiologists; collaborate with care teams.
• Ensure equipment operation, cleanliness, and supply stock to prevent cross-contamination.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Your tasks and responsibilities as a Radiology Tech may include:

• Youpossess sound and thorough knowledge of all diagnostic radiographic procedures and related equipment including surgical, portable, trauma, general and fluoroscopic radiographic procedures.
• You willobtain high-quality radiographic and fluoroscopic images assuring only optimal images are submitted for interpretation utilizing appropriate lead markers as well asdate and time stickers where indicated.
• You will select proper and accurate technical factors and techniques to accommodate patient and assist inadministration of contrast media when indicated.
• You will prepare, transfer and position patients as needed ensuring modesty, safely utilizing auxiliary equipment and/or devices indicated.
• You will document all pertinent clinical information prior to exam, obtain informed consent, and complete all required fields within MEDITECH accurately and on time.
• You will maintain proactive and effective communication with patient and other caregiver colleagues to include the radiologist.
• You will check the operation of the equipment, maintain cleanliness of table/equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases and keep room stocked with linens and necessary supplies.

Qualifications:

• Associate degree
• ARRT certification
• Clear/active Florida Department of Health CRT licensure
• Current American Heart Association certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Minimum of one (1) year experience preferred.Ability to perform work which requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, and lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 100 lbs.
