Job summary

Community Medical Center in Missoula, MT is seeking a PRN Radiologic Technologist to support imaging services. You will review orders, prepare and administer contrast, and perform imaging procedures while ensuring patient safety and quality results.

The role requires MT Limited or MT Radiologic Technologist licensure, ARRT certification within 6 months of hire, and BCLS within 90 days. Competitive benefits accompany this on-site position in western Montana.

Responsibilities

• Reviews patient history and the physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment, and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
• Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice. Monitors patient condition and reports changes in status as appropriate.
• Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects exposure factors and imaging parameters. Performs quality control procedures and troubleshoots equipment malfunctions.
• Positions patient and performs imaging procedures. Analyzes results and communicates issues to ensure image quality.

How you'll contribute

• Reviews patient history and the physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment, and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
• When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within the scope of practice. Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate
• Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
• Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s). Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning the patient and repeating the procedure. Enters, transmits, and reports scan results.
