Job summary

Community Medical Center in Missoula, MT is seeking a Radiology Technician to review patient history, coordinate orders, educate patients on procedures, and perform imaging studies with a focus on safety and image quality.

Qualified candidates will have an Associate's degree, Montana Radiation Operator license, ARRT registration in Radiology, and BLS certification. We offer comprehensive benefits, PTO, tuition assistance, and career development opportunities.

  • Licenses: Montana Radiation Operator license and ARRT Radiology registration.
  • Certification: BLS.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews patient history and physician orders.
  • Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment, and exam to ensure understanding.
  • Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
  • Monitors patient condition and responds to changes as appropriate.
  • Prepares equipment, selects imaging factors, ensures safety standards, and performs quality control.
  • Positions patient and performs imaging procedures.
  • Analyzes results, identifies image quality issues, and resolves them as needed.
  • Enters, transmits, and reports scan results.

Education

Associate's degree and/or Baccalaureate degree
Montana Radiation Operator license
ARRT Certification in Radiology
BLS certification

How you'll contribute
  • Reviews patient history and the physician's orders.
  • Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment, and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
  • When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within the scope of practice.
  • Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate
  • Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
  • Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s).
  • Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
  • Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning the patient and repeating the procedure. Enters, transmits, and reports scan results.
What we're looking for
  • Education: Associate's degree and/or Baccalaureate degree
  • License: Current Radiation Operator in the state of Montana and Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiology
  • Certification: BLS
