Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform x-ray exams and support physicians in diagnosing patients. The role may include more complex modalities and requires life support certification, TX MRT licensure, and ARRT-R registration.

Responsibilities include patient preparation, accurate imaging, data entry, and adherence to safety standards. Weekend or float shifts may be required as part of department needs.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
• Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support, required.
• Current license or temporary license by the Texas Medical Board (MRT), required.
• Registered Radiology Technologist by the ARRT-R, required.
• Ability to lift and/or maneuver patients in conjunction with others to perform job functions.

Responsibilities

• Performs radiography (x-ray) exams on patients ensuring compliance with radiation safety procedures.
• Obtains and records patient’s vital signs, explains procedures, positions patients and selects imaging techniques.
• Performs quality assurance on radiology equipment and maintains accurate patient data.
• May assist with initial and renewal applications for ACR and other accreditation.
• Takes emergency call within the department and may work weekends or float to other locations as needed.
• Promotes safe care to patients, staff and visitors and adheres to Memorial Hermann policies and standards.
