Position Summary

To provide high-quality imaging procedures to our patients and physicians in a respectful, efficient, and safe environment.

Position Requirements
  1. Formal Education / Training: Radiologic Technology diploma or degree; Tennessee Medical X-ray Operator License; compliance with CE requirements; Medical Assistant certificate or higher degree if hired before March 1, 2019; Medical Assistant Certificate within 90 days if hired after.
  2. Workplace Experience: Preferably at least one year in a clinical setting; orthopaedic experience preferred but not required.
  3. Equipment and Skills: Knowledge of x-ray equipment and computer systems; training in fluoroscopy, surgery, routine studies; competent in patient assessment, vital signs, medical history, EMR, customer service, teamwork, and multitasking.
  4. Physical Environment & Effort: Practice radiation safety; perform tasks including equipment manipulation, patient assistance, lifting over 20 pounds, and effective communication.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Verify patient identity and physician orders for accuracy.
  2. Question female patients (ages 12-50) about pregnancy and document.
  3. Wear radiation dosimeter badges and follow safety protocols (ALARA, IMAGE GENTLY, IMAGE WISELY).
  4. Record medical history, medications, vital signs, and document in EMR.
  5. Assist with sutures, splints, wound care, injections, and office procedures.
  6. Coordinate referrals and consultations.
  7. Work collaboratively in a team, attend meetings, and volunteer for overtime when needed.
  8. Ensure patient safety, follow safety procedures, and maintain cleanliness and supplies.
