Position Summary

To provide high-quality imaging procedures to patients and physicians in a respectful, efficient, and safe environment.

Position Requirements
  • Education: Radiologic Technology diploma or degree; Tennessee Medical X-ray Operator License; CE compliance; Medical Assistant certification or higher if hired before March 1, 2019; Medical Assistant Certificate within 90 days if hired after.
  • Experience: Preference for at least one year in a clinical setting; orthopaedic experience preferred but not required.
  • Skills: Knowledge of x-ray equipment and EMR; experience with fluoroscopy, surgery, routine studies; patient assessment skills; customer service; ability to multitask.
Physical Environment & Effort

Radiation safety practices; ability to manipulate equipment; assist in patient movement; lift over 20 pounds; communicate effectively; demonstrate emotional stability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify patient identity and physician order accuracy.
  • Question female patients regarding pregnancy and document appropriately.
  • Wear radiation dosimeter and follow safety protocols.
  • Record patient history, medications, vital signs, and document in EMR.
  • Assist with sutures, splints, wound care, injections, and physician procedures.
  • Ensure patient dignity and comfort during exams and transport.
  • Coordinate referrals and follow-up services.
  • Participate in team activities, meetings, and organizational improvements.
  • Follow safety procedures to ensure patient and staff safety.
  • Perform high-quality imaging studies and maintain exam rooms.
