Job summary

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, KY is seeking a Radiology Technician to perform imaging procedures and ensure patient safety. You will review orders, educate patients, and administer contrast when ordered, while monitoring and adjusting equipment as needed.

Ideal candidates have an accredited radiology program, AART eligibility within 6 months, and BLS certification. Strong English communication and the ability to work under pressure are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Program in Discipline required or validated by current licensure.
• AART certification within 6 months of hire.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision.
• English communication skills required, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Reviews patient history and physician orders.
• Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam.
• Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope.
• Monitors patient condition and responds to changes; prepares equipment.
• Selects exposure factors and imaging parameters.
• Implements safety standards and quality control; reports malfunctions.
• Positions patient and performs imaging procedures.
• Analyzes results and resolves image quality issues.
• Enters, transmits and reports scan results.
