Job summary

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, KY is seeking a Radiology Technician to perform imaging procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. This full-time Days position offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities for professional development within Lifepoint Health's network.

The role requires graduation from an approved radiologic technology program, ARRT eligibility, and BLS certification or within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Program in Discipline required or validated by current licensure.
• AART certification within 6 months of hire or equivalent.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to work in a high-stress environment with minimal supervision.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

A Radiology Technician performs various imaging procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.

• Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
• Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
• When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
• Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
• Prepares equipment and supplies.
• Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
• Implement safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
• Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s).
• Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
• Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure.
• Enters, transmits and reports scan results.

What We Are Looking For

• Graduate of a Program in Discipline required or validated by current licensure.
• AART within 6 months of hire.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire date.
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Language Skills: Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
