Job summary

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, Physician Services in Somerset, KY, is seeking a Radiology Technician for a full-time walk-in clinic with rotating shifts and weekend rotations. You will perform imaging procedures, review orders, educate patients, and ensure safety and image quality.

ARRT in Radiologic Technology and Kentucky radiation operator certification, plus current BLS, are required. Strong English communication and the ability to work under pressure are essential.

Qualifications

• ARRT in Radiologic Technology is required.
• State of Kentucky radiation operator certification required.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to think critically and work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work in a stressful environment and respond to changes.

Position Summary:

Performs various imaging procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.

• Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
• Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
• When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
• Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate Prepares equipment and supplies.
• Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
• Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.
• Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
• Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s).
• Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
• Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure.
• Enters, transmits and reports scan results

Minimum Qualifications:

• Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiologic Technology.
• Certified by the State of Kentucky as a radiation operator required.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire date.
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Language Skills: Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
