Radiology Technician and Medical Assistant

Job Summary

This position involves preparing x-ray equipment to make radiographs of designated parts of the body and supporting primary care activities for the PCP panel. Responsibilities include facilitating PCP visits, providing direct patient care, closing quality gaps, and managing the PCP schedule. The role requires serving as both a Radiologic Technician and a Medical Assistant.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for procedures by assessing needs and providing education.
  • Complete scheduled and unscheduled work accurately and efficiently.
  • Operate imaging equipment and record data properly.
  • Perform quality controls to ensure optimal images and tracings.
  • Enter patient information, exam charges, and supplies into the Electronic Medical Record System.
  • Prepare test results for physician interpretation promptly.
  • Communicate abnormal findings to appropriate personnel for resolution or tracking.
  • Perform vital signs, phlebotomy, point of care testing, EKG, Spirometry, and DRE.
  • Assist with patient flow, including rooming, procedures, scheduling, and transportation setup.
  • Support fellow team members as needed.
  • Follow safety and infection control protocols, maintaining confidentiality.
  • Note: Duties may be reassigned or modified as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
  • At least 2 years’ experience as a diagnostic radiology technologist or radiology technician.
  • Experience with medical assistant duties, including vital signs and phlebotomy.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures, radiation safety, and exam protocols.
  • State licensure as a Radiographer in Pennsylvania and certification by AART.
  • CPR certification.
  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant with 2 years of practice.
  • Customer service orientation and emergency responsiveness.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; willingness to learn new software.
Working Conditions

Daily exposure to radiation with safety gear, and to infectious diseases. Office environment with standard equipment. Use of protective attire and potential sharing of workspace.

Physical Requirements
  • Physically demanding at times, including moving equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Stationary work for long periods, with frequent movement and communication.
