Job summary

Horizon Health in Paris, IL is seeking a Radiology Technologist to perform MRI, CT, X-ray, fluoroscopy and related portable testing in our radiology department.

Qualifications

• Willingness to participate in call coverage and shift rotations.

Responsibilities

• Conducts requested testing in Radiology per physician orders.
• Obtains patient history prior to exam and documents findings.
• Demonstrates competency in collimation, positioning and techniques.
• Evaluates radiographs for technical quality before radiologist review.
• Monitors exposure levels and film badge results per protocol.
• Maintains infection control and professionalism during patient care.

Job description

Horizon Health is a Critical Access, Rural Health Facility comprised of 25-inpatient beds located in Paris, IL & a multitude of outpatient clinic settings including Family Practice and Specialty Clinics in Paris and surrounding cities. Position Summary

The incumbent is capable of performing a number of tests/exams in the areas of MRI, CT Scan, X-ray, Fluoroscopy, Surgery and/ or use of portable testing equipment.

Essential Functions

• Conducts requested testing in the Radiology department per the physician’s orders.
• Obtains patient’s clinical history before beginning any exam.
• Demonstrates competency in collimation, positioning and techniques.
• Evaluates radiographs for technical quality before delivery to the radiologist.
• Monitors the film badge and follows up on exposure level results monthly.
• Must be proficient with a number of different machines and procedures used for radiology testing processes.
• Inspires confidence from patients, visitors and families by performing and communicating in a professional manner at all times.
• Respects the confidentiality of patient orders and records; uses discretion in discussion of patient health.
• Demonstrates concern for cleanliness and infection control by practicing universal controls.
• Must be available for call coverage, rotating shifts and disaster call back.

Position Requirements

• High School Graduate or equivalent
• Completion of a formal radiologic technology training program in an approved school.
• Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists for radiography. Registry recommended for CT and MRI.
• State of Illinois licensure through the Department of Nuclear Safety or IEMA (or willing to apply upon hire).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification. Can be obtained within 30 days of start date or recertification can be obtained within 30 days of expiration.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification. Can be obtained within 30 days of start date or recertification can be obtained within 30 days of expiration.

Position Information

Location: 721 E. Court Street Paris, IL 61944

Hours: PRN, can work any shifts offered, hours could range from 8 to 24hrs per week depending on need

Pay Range

Pay ranges from $27.473/hour to $43.997/hour (rate of pay is based on applicable years of experience)
