Job summary

CommonSpirit Health's St. John’s Hospital Camarillo is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform X-rays, CT, MRI, ultrasound, and fluoroscopy exams, contributing to accurate diagnoses and patient care.

You will ensure proper positioning, safety, and image quality, while entering exams into PACS and supporting radiologists with timely results in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Less than 6 months experience as Radiologic Technologist.
• CA license required upon hire.
• Fluoroscopy Radiology Tech license required upon hire.
• Basic Life Support / CPR required upon hire.
• ARRT registration required upon hire (Radiography).
• Additional ARRT credentials in CT, MRI, Bone Densitometry, etc. preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transfers and positions patients.
• Performs imaging procedures per orders and departmental standards.
• Provides radiation protection according to safety procedures.
• Places exams in PACS and prints images or burns CDs as needed.
• Interviews patients for medical history and obtains consent.
• Uses sterile technique and assists in first aid and radiopaque material administration.

*Job Summary and Responsibilities*

As our Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech), you will be pivotal in producing diagnostic images that enable Radiologists to accurately diagnose and manage patient conditions.

Each day, you will perform a variety of imaging examinations, including X-rays, ultrasound, diagnostic fluoroscopy, CT/CAT scans, and MRIs, while actively contributing to a positive patient experience through direct interaction.

To excel, you must deeply understand diagnostic imaging's critical importance, encompassing expertise in workflow, patient positioning, and capturing precise results essential for timely and accurate diagnoses.

• Transfers and positions patients. Measurement: Observation, Feedback.
• Performs diagnostic imaging procedures in accordance with department standards and in keeping with the orders of the referring physician. Measurement: Observation, Feedback, Departmental monitors.
• Provides radiation protection in accordance with prescribed safety procedures. Measurement: Observation, Feedback, Departmental monitors.
• Accepts responsibility for placing exams in PACS, is able to print images and burn CDs as needed. Measurement: Observation, Feedback, Film accuracy, Film quality.
• Interviews patients for pertinent medical history and obtains consents on patients prior to performing studies as required. Measurement: Observation, Feedback, Patient care documentation.
• Uses sterile technique and prevents cross-contamination. Assists in performing of first aid as necessary. Assists the physician in administering radiopaque material. Measurement: Observation, Feedback, Departmental monitors.
