Dignity Health - Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz, CA is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging procedures, including X-ray, CT, fluoroscopy, and other imaging modalities, while ensuring high-quality images and patient safety.

You will be responsible for proper patient positioning, workflow, and accurate documentation to support radiologists in timely and accurate diagnoses.

Qualifications

  • Completion of radiologic technology training in an ARRT approved program.
  • One year or more as staff technologist; able to perform routine radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures and operate CT.
  • Able to perform basic IR procedures and take call.
  • CA license as Medical Radiographer and Fluoroscopy Radiology Tech.
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist ARRT; CPR/BLS.
  • Preferred: BS in Radiologic Science; additional CT or Nuclear Medicine credentials.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine diagnostic and fluoroscopic procedures (X-ray, fluoroscopy, CT); assist with MR imaging as needed.
  • Position patients and ensure safe transport with equipment.
  • Ensure accurate patient identification, marker placement, and documentation of procedures.
  • Assign and review patient charges; maintain quality control and proper technique records.
  • Maintain image quality, accuracy of S range, and proper side/location markers.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech), you will be pivotal in producing diagnostic images that enable Radiologists to accurately diagnose and manage patient conditions.

Each day, you will perform a variety of imaging examinations, including X-rays, ultrasound, diagnostic fluoroscopy, CT/CAT scans, and MRIs, while actively contributing to a positive patient experience through direct interaction.

To excel, you must deeply understand diagnostic imaging's critical importance, encompassing expertise in workflow, patient positioning, and capturing precise results essential for timely and accurate diagnoses.

  • Utilizes proper equipment (gurney, wheelchair, Hoyer-Lift, etc.) to safely transport patient.
  • Performs all routine diagnostic and fluoroscopic procedures. Performs all routine CT or IR procedures.
  • Assigns all patient charges appropriately.
  • Records/reviews all techniques/procedures as required.
  • Clearly marks all radiographs as to side location, position, patient ID, etc.
  • Marks all CR images with correct markers.
  • Ensures all CR images are quality controlled and with correct S range.
Job Requirements
  • Completion of radiologic technology training in an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) approved school
  • One year or more as a staff technologist and performs all routine and emergency radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures and operates the CT scanner for limited procedures and able to take call or
  • Able to perform basic IR procedures and take call
  • Medical Radiographer: CA
  • Fluoroscopy Radiology Tech: CA
  • Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support - CPR
Preferred
  • Bachelors Of Science Radiologic science and 3 years of experience as a staff technologist
  • Registered Technologist Computed Tomography or
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer or
  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist or
  • Registered Technologist Nuclear Medicine Technology
