Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

• Ability to perform radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures meeting quality standards.
• Knowledge of RIS and PACS systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist the radiologist during procedures as needed.
• Maintain proper darkroom techniques and monitor film processing.
• Follow ALARA radiation safety guidelines.
• Operate imaging and fluoroscopic equipment and ensure patient safety during transfers.
• Participate in orientation and training of staff, students and residents.
• Prepare patients for exams and verify identity and orders.
• Troubleshoot equipment and report problems to the appropriate personnel.
• Process data onto imaging plates and prepare images for radiologist review.
• Produce quality images following QA protocols, proper labeling and patient ID.
• Prepare contrast media under the direction of a radiologist.
