Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL, is hiring a Radiologic Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging at UAB St. Vincent’s Birmingham. The role involves preparing patients, positioning, exposure selection, contrast administration, and strict adherence to radiation safety protocols in a fast-paced environment.

Flexible scheduling, cross-training opportunities, and a focus on high-quality patient care are offered, with prior surgery experience preferred and a weekend call every 5th weekend.

Qualifications

• BLS within 30 days of hire date (or transfer).
• Cardiographic/ radiologic credentials ARRT/CCI required before hire, as applicable.
• Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program.

Responsibilities

• Take radiologic films providing quality images to physicians to aid in diagnosis.
• Prepare and position patients for imaging and select exposure factors accurately.
• Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within scope and regulations.
• Observe patient during procedure and monitor for abnormalities; update protocols as needed.
• Follow radiation safety procedures to minimize patient exposure.
• Ensure high-quality images and proper data submitted to PACS with correct markers.
• Ensure equipment is functioning and report issues; lock/tag out as needed.
• Maintain a clean and orderly department and exam rooms.
