Job summary

UAB St. Vincent’s Birmingham North Tower Imaging is hiring a mammography technologist to provide imaging services for breast health.

The role involves operating equipment, positioning patients, educating them on mammography's role in prevention, and ensuring high-quality images are sent to PACS. The team works Monday–Friday with no evening or weekend shifts, offering strong benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Graduate in Radiologic Technology with required licensure/registration.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Bone density certification may be required within 6 months.
• Multiple credential options accepted: CCI, ARDMS, or ARRT radiography.

Responsibilities

• Provide mammography imaging services.
• Operate equipment and prepare/position patients with accuracy.
• Explain procedures and educate patients on preventive breast health.
• Develop and evaluate film quality for density/contrast/definition.
• Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
• Ensure high-quality images are submitted to PACS with correct data.
• Maintain equipment and report malfunctions.
• Assist in keeping department clean and organized.
