Job summary

Alpine Surgery Center in Anchorage, Alaska, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Radiology Technologist to join our ambulatory surgery center. Under the direction of your Physician, you will perform diagnostic radiographic procedures in line with established protocols to promote positive patient outcomes.

You will contribute to safe room practices, shield patients appropriately, document records, and coordinate with the care team while maintaining and preparing equipment per policy.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of radiology required.
• 1+ years' experience as a Radiology Technician required, preferably in an operating room or surgery center setting.
• Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technicians (ARRT) required.
• BLS required (Within 30-Days of Start).
• State Radiology Technician license required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for exams and procedures. Assesses patient condition prior to and during all radiologic procedures.
• Assemble necessary supplies and positioning aids for scheduling procedures per physician’s preference card.
• Tests and monitor equipment for proper working condition.
• Document records and other forms, adhering to approved policies/procedures.
• Confirm that all persons in room are appropriately shielded before activating x-ray.
• Communicate information about patient’s status to other staff responsible for care.
• Perform maintenance of instruments, supplies, and equipment per cleaning, storage, and calibration procedures.
