JMC Jefferson Medical Center in West Virginia is seeking a Radiology Support Aide to assist with radiology imaging services. You will greet patients, verify orders, prepare patients for exams, and support radiologic technologists in routine imaging procedures.

This role emphasizes patient comfort, safe patient handling, transport between rooms, and coordination to ensure smooth workflow across departments within the Radiology unit.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
• Competency in the use of safe patient handling equipment.

Responsabilidades

• Greets patients upon arrival to Radiology and facilitates the patient’s experience.
• Answers all phone calls in a timely and courteous manner, identifying self and unit.
• Verifies completeness of orders and notifies physicians of inaccuracies.
• Supports Radiologic Technologists in planning and execution of routine imaging procedures.
• Prepares patients for basic examinations and diagnostic procedures.
• Informs appropriate personnel of patient arrival for appointment.
• Assesses patient comfort and provides support accordingly.
• Provides direct patient care to facilitate routine imaging services.
• Safely assists in transport and handling of patients per policy.
• Escorts patients to and from procedure rooms and assists with arrival/departure.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment to prevent infection.
• Promotes team approach among staff involved in Radiology services.
• Observes and reports patient concerns to staff immediately.
• Assists in unit operations to ensure smooth communication and functioning.
• Coordinates outpatient and inpatient workflow between department and patient floors.
