WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals is seeking a Radiology Support Professional to assist Radiologic Technologists with imaging procedures, patient care, and room prep. The role includes coordinating department flow, maintaining sterile technique, and performing IV placements once competent.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, BLS within 30 days, and 1 year of clinical experience. A department-required IV course is also expected.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• 1 year of clinical experience.
• IV course to be completed as established by the department.

Responsabilités

• Supports Radiologic Technologists in planning and execution of imaging procedures.
• Reports equipment failures immediately upon identification.
• Assists patient preparation and transfer to the exam table.
• Coordinates outpatient and inpatient department flow via communication with departments and patients.
• Assesses patient comfort and provides support accordingly.
• Escorts patient to and from procedure suite and assists with arrival/departure.
• Promotes team approach within radiology services.
• Performs quality control testing and calibrations per policy.
• Upon competency, performs routine IV placement for imaging procedures.
• Obtains patient history and vitals prior to procedures.
• Maintains clean, safe environment and assists in post-procedure care.
