Job description

Position Summary

Provides operational support as part of the Radiology Support Team, facilitating workflow for radiologists in a large, multi-specialty healthcare organization. This is a part-time, remote position based in Maine or New Hampshire, with onsite training in South Portland, Maine. Hours are Sat/Sun from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (EST); weekday coverage is a plus.

Essential Functions

  • Supports radiologists by communicating and documenting STAT, Unexpected, and Critical Findings via our One Connect System.
  • Coordinates with Teleradiology vendors for final reads and troubleshooting.
  • Expedites STAT read requests and notifies assigned radiologists.
  • Communicates system issues impacting workflow.
  • Assists with PACS system workflows, failures, delays, and creates work lists.
  • Monitors report turnaround times and reports delays.
  • Facilitates physician-to-physician communication via phone.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Answers, triages, and transfers calls appropriately.
  • Responds promptly to voicemails and emails.
  • Interacts with medical professionals and administrative staff at various facilities.
  • Maintains HIPAA confidentiality.
  • Provides excellent customer service.
  • Attends meetings and educational activities.
  • Promotes a team environment with cooperative behavior.
  • Performs duties to maintain department efficiency.
  • Proactively reports safety issues.
  • Demonstrates professionalism and adheres to company policies.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology; radiological setting experience helpful.
  • Strong attention to detail and multitasking skills.
  • Effective communication of medical information.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and specialized software (PACS, QDoc, EPIC, Power Scribe 360, Qgenda).
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Physical Demands / Work Environment

  • Use of office equipment: fax, phone, computer, copier.
  • Sitting, standing, and extended computer use.
  • Light lifting and movement of materials.
