Responsibilities:

• Answer calls, transfer to appropriate personnel, distribute messages, and verify patient appointments.
• Schedule patients as needed.
• Follow up on reports not faxed by mailing reports to offices.
• Communicate critical exam information directly to physicians and coordinate dialogues as needed.
• Inform patients waiting for exams about follow-up and physician's instructions.
• Act as liaison among Radiologists, Technologists, and patients regarding test status and waiting periods.
• Instruct patients on exam preparation and assist when necessary.
• Maintain adequate stock of gowns and supplies in dressing rooms.
• Schedule biopsy patients and complete patient charts, coordinating with staff to streamline workflow.
• Work with referral offices to retrieve patient history and order information.
• Demonstrate commitment to Service Excellence by understanding and meeting the needs of patients, families, physicians, and co-workers.
• Ensure timely sending of teleradiology exams, proper documentation, and monitor turnaround times.
• Coordinate after-hours coverage by paging clinical or technical staff for emergent or capacity workloads.
• Retrieve, print, and reproduce images on media at Hamot or regional offices.
• Import outside images and reports into Radiology systems for comparison.
• Register or update patient information, verify insurance, and enter exams in systems.
• Retrieve daily reports for OB Gyn Associates as needed.
• Process reports and schedule diagnostic exams.
• Complete patient registration for site modalities.
• Review orders for accuracy, print schedules, and confirm order consistency.
• Obtain follow-up documentation after exams and scan for long-term storage.
