JOB TITLE Senior Coding Manager

LOCATION Remote

Travel % (if applicable): 10%

As the Senior Coding Manager,you will be responsible for facilitating the continuous attainment of accurate and timely coding while providing subject matter expertise to meet the organization’s goals as they relate to correct coding initiatives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Monitor and oversee the daily production and accuracy of the coding team, both offshore and SMI.
• Reports coding effectiveness, shortfalls, and plans for process improvement opportunities.
• Monitor and analyze coding issues related to claims rejections to continually improve clean claims billing.
• Participate in the development and maintenance of training materials, and policies and procedures documentation related to coding and MIPS reporting.
• Review provider documentation concerns and prepare feedback.
• Provides staff assistance handling complex coding cases.
• Responds to coding and billing questions from staff, physicians, and other departments.
• Work collaboratively with the MIPS Program Coordinator to determine measure applicability to provide the best outcome for each practice.
• Audit charts on a recurring basis for coding accuracy and MIPS compliance.
• Oversee monthly charge reconciliation.
• Assist with provider education related to the MIPS/QPP program and best practice recommendations providing guidance to maximize Medicare reimbursement.
• Documentation of gap analysis and review of areas requiring improvement.
• Facilitation of retrospective reviews, coding, and provider feedback in collaboration with RCM leadership and billing vendors as needed.
• Monitoring and QA review of AI coding tool.
• Targeted reviews as required.
• Adheres to policies, procedures, and guidelines relative to departmental operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred but may substitute with experience.

License/Certification:

• Certified Professional Coder (CPC), required.
• Radiology Certified Coder (RCC), preferred.
• Radiology Certified Coder-IR (RCC-IR), a plus.

Experience:

• 5+ years of recent radiology coding experience, required.
• Highly organized
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Imagine Billing experience, preferred.
• Aideo/Gemini AI coding platform experience, preferred.
• Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Word

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position may require duties including lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds, sitting for prolonged periods of time, with frequent standing and walking.
