Job summary

Springfield Clinic is seeking an Imaging Coordinator to manage Radiology procedures and patient data in a busy clinic environment in Springfield, IL. You will verify demographics, insurance, CPT and diagnosis codes, and ensure prior authorizations are in place for applicable exams.

You will collaborate with technologists, radiologists, and management to optimize scheduling, manage wait lists, and ensure accurate billing and patient prep.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong computer and telephone skills.
• Ability to problem solve and stay calm under pressure.
• Ability to lift, walk, stoop and sit at a computer for long periods.
• No prior radiology experience required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate radiology procedures via RIS from patients, providers, or task lists.
• Verify patient demographics, insurance, CPT and diagnosis codes.
• Confirm prior authorizations for exams requiring authorization.
• Communicate pre-certification issues with technologists and radiology management.
• Obtain correct order and insurance documentation from providers.
• Manage wait lists and reschedule to accommodate add-ons.
• Screen patients for contrast/implants to ensure safe exams.
• Coordinate accommodations for ADA needs and interpreter services.
• Provide exam prep guidance and set patient expectations.
• Maintain compliance with billing procedures and incident reporting.
• Work with billing and radiology team to coordinate payments.
