Job summary

Springfield Clinic is seeking an Imaging Coordinator to orchestrate Radiology procedures across multiple modalities, handling patient calls, scheduling, and documentation. The role ensures accurate CPT/diagnosis codes, insurance eligibility, and prior authorizations as needed.

The coordinator will interact with technologists, radiologists and management to optimize scheduling, verify demographics, and support compliant billing procedures in a busy medical office environment.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED required.
• Strong communication and organizational abilities.
• Proficient in computer and telephone systems.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Radiology procedures using RIS from patients, providers, or task lists.
• Answer and route calls courteously following guidelines.
• Verify diagnosis and CPT codes for scheduled exams.
• Ensure prior authorization is obtained when required.
• Communicate pre-certification issues with technologists and management.
• Collaborate with on-site staff and outside providers to obtain orders and documentation.
• Review screening information to enable safe scanning and proper billing.
• Verify insurance eligibility and update records.
• Build workers’ compensation cases in APM and attach referrals.
• Manage wait lists and modify imaging schedules for add-ons.
• Screen patients for contrast and implants to ensure safe exams.
• Provide exam expectations and necessary preparation to patients.
