Job summary

Methodist Hospitals in Indiana is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide direct nursing care for patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional imaging in Radiology. The RN will assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care across pre-, intra-, and post-procedural stages, including education for patients and families.

Ideal candidates will communicate clearly, work in teams, handle crises, and operate independently.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates good interpersonal skills using tact and diplomacy in interacting with staff, clients, and the public.

• Ability to participate in planning and arranging work as a team member.
• Capable of functioning independently pertaining to patient care and equipment functions.
• Working knowledge of EKG interpretation, hemodynamic pressure recording/interpretation, sterile technique, imaging procedures equipment and supplies, computer skills to document nursing notes electronically.

Responsibilities

• Assesses and documents the physical and psychosocial needs of patients.
• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient.
• Utilizes the nursing process to provide direct patient care in collaboration with all health care disciplines.
• Assists with imaging related treatments and procedures including biopsies, PICC line Portacath insertions, stress tests, and other radiology procedures.
• Demonstrates proficiency in using specialty equipment and ensures readiness of emergency and monitoring equipment.
• Maintains documentation and provides patient education as part of nursing care.
