A leading healthcare organization in Boston is seeking a radiology receptionist to support patient care by greeting patients and managing their appointments. The role requires effective communication skills, multitasking ability, and familiarity with hospital IT systems. This position plays a key role in ensuring a smooth patient experience in the Department of Radiology.
Under the direct supervision of the Support Services Supervisor, who reports to the Breast Imaging Program Manager, the radiology receptionist greets and "checks in" patients upon arrival to the Department of Radiology. To facilitate patient arrival, the receptionist reviews patient schedules and changes appointment statuses, informs section of patient arrival, and verifies patient demographic data and reason for visit. The radiology receptionist actively communicates with the radiology sections and patients any disruptions to the schedule that would impact the patient experience or influence the timely performance of their test. The receptionist addresses patients needs as needed while in the radiology waiting room.

Essential Functions-Greets patients in a friendly, helpful manner that embodies the I CARE standards.
-Enters/Updates exam information in hospital and department information systems (Epic) for differing radiology exams.
-Utilizes information devices such as MGB PC's and printing devices, and various applications within Network drives to facilitate patient throughput.
-Documents patient's fall risk by ensuring the patient fills out fall risk form upon entering the department.
-Assists in communication requests from outside providers by answering and transferring phone calls as needed.
-Assists in maintaining a clean work environment by engaging environmental services as needed to address waiting area deficiencies.
-Adapts to the workflow plan set out by support services supervisor or radiology program manager as necessary to a changing environment.
-Consistently demonstrates effective communication, both written and verbal, with all departmental and hospital staff.
-Performs all other duties as assigned or required to ensure efficient operation of the department and quality patient care.
Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Licenses and Credentials
Basic Life Support [BLS] - Generic - HR Only preferred
Experience
Experience with hospital IT scheduling systems preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

- Must be able to multitask and think in a proactive manner.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred.
