Optum, part of UnitedHealth Group, seeks a responsive radiology support specialist in Plymouth, MA. You will check in patients, handle phones, manage radiology workflows, coordinate with technologists and referrals, and ensure HIPAA compliance.

The role is full-time, 40 hours weekly, Monday to Friday, 8am–4:30pm, based at 36 Shops at Five Way Plymouth. Prior EPIC and medical terminology familiarity are preferred to deliver excellent patient care.

Qualifications

• High School/GED
• 1+ years of customer service experience
• Familiarity with medical terminology
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize

Responsabilités

• Verifies patient insurance coverage and collects co-pays/deductibles for imaging exams
• Make appointment reminder phone calls as needed
• Processes requests for copies of images/CDs per release of patient information policy
• Manages patient flow within the department by adhering to check-in process
• May assist with checkout and book follow-up appointments per guidelines
• Coordinate image sharing and downloads to patient EMR/PACS; verify demographic info in PACS
• Tracks internal and external facility images per department policies
• Assist in communicating results to outside providers via fax/routing
• Maintain waiting room, assist with staff training/orientation
• Provide back-up coverage and regional imaging support as needed
