Job summary

The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Outpatient Reception Clerk to join the Radiology Department. You will greet and check in patients, answer enquiries, book appointments, and register radiology requests across multiple sites, with Freeman Hospital and Benfield as main bases.

This busy role requires excellent customer care, strong IT and organisational skills, and the ability to work across locations on a rota basis, including weekends.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification or experience.
• Understanding of confidentiality issues.
• Previous reception/clerical experience desirable.
• IT skills in Windows-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of a 24-hour Main Reception alongside an Outpatient service across the organisation, ensuring high quality customer care.
• Take responsibility for the timely completion of all outpatient admin services.
• Direct hospital visitors and the general public to the correct areas to support patient care.
• Provide an efficient and sensitive reception service to all users with high-quality customer care.
• Make and receive telephone calls to respond to public enquiries.
• Ensure all areas are kept clean and tidy at all times.
