Qualifications

  • Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or an accredited MR registry program.
  • MR registry must be obtained within 18 months of the primary registry (12 months if CNMT/ARDRMS/ARMRIT).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience required.
  • ARRT Certificate, ARMRIT, NMTC, or ARDMS certification required.
  • BLS certification is required.
  • Completion of state-specific Acts (Act 31, Act 33, Act 34, Act 73) as required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain MR safety and clinical competency for all exams and equipment.
  • Perform procedures for reviewing, processing, and archiving imaging data.
  • Read and present relevant information to physicians prior to exams.
  • Identify patients using two identifiers and follow universal protocols.
  • Review patient history and orders to ensure optimal results and proper contrast administration.
  • Document patient history in electronic records.
  • Interact with patients and co-workers with compassion and professionalism.
  • Collaborate within the department and with other departments to expedite patient care.
  • Communicate instructions clearly to patients to reduce anxiety and ensure cooperation.
  • Ensure exams are properly coded, tracked, and charged as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Employees will work 10-hour shifts, four days a week. Weekend shifts may be included.

Job Description

The MRI Technologist independently performs imaging procedures, demonstrating competency across a variety of technical tasks requiring independent judgment and initiative for diagnostic purposes. This role ensures patient safety and care while adhering to departmental protocols.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain MR safety and clinical competency for all exams and equipment.
  • Perform procedures for reviewing, processing, and archiving imaging data.
  • Prior to exams, read and present all relevant information to physicians based on protocols.
  • Identify all patients properly using two patient identifiers and follow universal protocols.
  • Review patient history and assess physician orders to ensure optimal results and proper administration of contrast.
  • Document patient history in electronic records as required.
  • Interact with patients and co-workers with compassion, respect, and professionalism.
  • Work collaboratively within the department and across other departments to expedite patient care efficiently.
  • Communicate clearly with patients regarding instructions and procedures to reduce anxiety and encourage cooperation.
  • Ensure all exams are properly coded, tracked, updated, and charged as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and adhere to system-wide competencies and behaviors.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or an accredited CNMT, ARMRIT, or ARDMS program with MR registry.
  • MR registry must be obtained within 18 months of the primary registry or within 12 months if from CNMT, ARDMS, or ARMRIT.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience is required.
  • ARRT Certificate, ARMRIT, NMTC, or ARDMS certification is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Completion of state-specific Acts (Act 31, Act 33, Act 34, Act 73) as required.
