MRI Technologist - Night Shift
Assignment Duration
This is a night shift position with a contract length of 90 days.
Schedule
Employees will work 10-hour shifts, four days a week. Weekend shifts may be included.
Job Description
The MRI Technologist independently performs imaging procedures, demonstrating competency across a variety of technical tasks requiring independent judgment and initiative for diagnostic purposes. This role ensures patient safety and care while adhering to departmental protocols.
Responsibilities
- Maintain MR safety and clinical competency for all exams and equipment.
- Perform procedures for reviewing, processing, and archiving imaging data.
- Prior to exams, read and present all relevant information to physicians based on protocols.
- Identify all patients properly using two patient identifiers and follow universal protocols.
- Review patient history and assess physician orders to ensure optimal results and proper administration of contrast.
- Document patient history in electronic records as required.
- Interact with patients and co-workers with compassion, respect, and professionalism.
- Work collaboratively within the department and across other departments to expedite patient care efficiently.
- Communicate clearly with patients regarding instructions and procedures to reduce anxiety and encourage cooperation.
- Ensure all exams are properly coded, tracked, updated, and charged as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned and adhere to system-wide competencies and behaviors.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or an accredited CNMT, ARMRIT, or ARDMS program with MR registry.
- MR registry must be obtained within 18 months of the primary registry or within 12 months if from CNMT, ARDMS, or ARMRIT.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience is required.
- ARRT Certificate, ARMRIT, NMTC, or ARDMS certification is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Completion of state-specific Acts (Act 31, Act 33, Act 34, Act 73) as required.
