The role includes preparing patients and equipment, executing studies independently, and overseeing shift operations to ensure smooth workflow. The technologist serves as a clinical resource, troubleshooting issues, mentoring staff, and acting as a liaison between the team and supervisor. Responsibilities also include maintaining supplies, problem-solving complex exams, and delegating tasks to support department needs.
Candidates should have an Associate degree or Trade School equivalency, with certification as a Registered Technologist in Radiography (R.T.(R)) and/or MR. A minimum of 2 years’ experience is required, with preferred experience ranging from 5 to 10 years. Certifications such as RTR, CT, MR, and others are necessary. The role demands strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and mentorship abilities, along with the capacity to handle advanced imaging modalities and prioritize patient care.
