Job summary

Origin Travel Nurses is seeking a Mammography Technologist for a 13-week assignment in New Jersey. The role conducts mammography exams per ACR; assists with breast ultrasound and stereotactic biopsy, ensuring high-quality imaging and patient care.

Requires ARRT Mammography, NJ State Diagnostic Radiology license, CPR/BLS, and at least 3 years of mammography experience; EPIC familiarity is a plus. Weekend shifts may be required with a 4x10 or 5x8 schedule totaling 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Mammography.
• ARRT Mammography Certification required.
• New Jersey State license in Diagnostic Radiology required.
• CPR and BLS certifications required.
• Stereotactic breast biopsy experience preferred, bone density experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic and screening mammographic examinations on patients of all ages.
• Assist in breast localization and stereotactic procedures including setup and cleanup.
• Utilize proper technical factors for imaging while providing immobilization devices.

Job Description

The Mammography Technologist is responsible for performing mammography examinations in accordance with ACR requirements. This role assists with breast ultrasound, stereotactic biopsy, and other radiologic guided procedures performed within the Breast Center, ensuring high-quality patient care and accurate diagnostic imaging.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic and screening mammographic examinations on patients of all ages.
• Assist in breast localization and stereotactic procedures inclusive of setup and cleanup.
• Utilize proper technical factors for imaging while providing immobilization devices.
• Perform quality control procedures and maintain documentation according to regulatory standards.
• Support patients by providing education and instructions before and after procedures.
• Document pertinent patient information in the Breast Center chart and manage patient follow-ups.
• Modify and deliver care specific to individual patient needs, including age and cultural considerations.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Mammography.
• ARRT certification in Mammography and NJ State license in Diagnostic Radiology.
• CPR and BLS certifications are required.
• Experience with stereotactic breast biopsy and bone density is preferred.
Familiarity with EPIC is a plus.
