Job summary

Northwestern Medicine Reading Room Assistant role supports imaging workflow by organizing radiology films, requisitions, and patient records. The position involves greeting patients, assisting with check-in for exams, and ensuring X-rays are prepared and properly documented for radiologists.

Under supervision of a Department Administrator, you’ll maintain accurate files, coordinate interdepartmental tasks, and help sustain efficient clinic operations while upholding quality and compliance

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum six months of clerical/public-facing experience.

Responsibilities

• Order, track, locate, and file radiology films, jackets and requisitions.
• Deliver X-rays as needed.
• Prepare X-rays for radiologist reading and record results.
• Manage Quality Assurance issues and communicate with care team.
• Greet patients courteously and check them in for exams.
• Maintain scheduling and requisition files; handle inter-department mail.
