Job summary

Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis is seeking a Receptionist/Secretary for Diagnostic Radiology to handle patient registration, greet guests, verify insurance, and manage telephone inquiries in a fast-paced environment.

This role requires a High School diploma or GED, familiarity with medical terminology, and at least six months of front-desk experience. You will support scheduling, billing processes, and ensure HIPAA compliance while delivering courteous service.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• High School graduate or GED.
• Successful passage of basic Medical Terminology course OR successful passage of the CCH Medical Terminology exam.
• Minimum six (6) months experience in patient registration, admitting, nurse's aide, medical secretary, medical receptionist, or similar position.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and obtain demographic and insurance information and register patient into system.
• Answer telephone in a professional, courteous and pleasant manner in less than four rings.
• Obtain legally acceptable general consents to bill third parties.
• Verify and accurately enter radiology orders in the radiology information system.
• Accept and process payments from patients, as necessary.
