Job summary

Optum NY/NJ is seeking a Radiology Front Desk Scheduler to join our Mount Kisco, NY team. You will handle scheduling, patient information verification, insurance checks, and coordination with the care team to support high-quality patient experiences.

The role requires a 40-hour work week with occasional Saturday rotation. You will contribute to Lean processes, maintain records, and collaborate with clinicians to ensure timely radiology services in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of computer proficiency experience (multi-task through multiple applications including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word)
• 1+ years of customer service or Healthcare related experience
• Ability to abide by the code of conduct per Optum/UHG
• Ability to work 40 hours per week as listed in the job posting

Responsibilities

• Obtain accurate and updated patient information, such as name, address, insurance information
• Perform insurance verification on the date of service
• Scheduling radiology procedures in an organized and efficient manner
• Knowledge of medical terminology and radiology procedures and requirements
• File, Fax and maintain medical records
• Check In and Check Out patients
• Maintain a work queue and complete pending actions such as referrals and scheduling appointments
• Confirms and schedules appointments
• Answering incoming and outgoing telephone calls promptly and courteously
• Perform referral documentation promptly
• Follow-up with patients for appointments and lab results
• Adhere to Optum policies and work cohesively with the team
• Attend quarterly departmental trainings
• Plan, coordinate and implement care with the multidisciplinary team
• Ensure continuity of care through scheduling/tracking systems
• Communicate effectively with patients, families and health care professionals
• Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA/OSHA compliance
• Arrive on time and follow code of conduct
• Cross-train and help in other locations if needed
• Perform other duties as assigned
