Job summary

Covenant HealthCare in Michigan is seeking a Support Associate to greet patients, handle registration, and provide basic PACS/RIS support. You will respond to calls, prepare images for outside sources, and assist staff with administrative tasks while upholding HIPAA and patient confidentiality.

The role requires high school diploma, strong customer service, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Flexible schedule and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in clinical (direct patient care) and/or medical (administrative patient support) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and service patients using excellent customer service skills.
• Move outpatients through the registration/ordering process in a timely, professional manner.
• Assist patients in the completion of hospital forms. Prepares orders for the technical staff.
• Maintains paperwork/documentation per established protocols.
• Explains examination preparations for tests in Imaging/Diagnostic Services.
• Answer and direct phone calls promptly and efficiently.
• Faxes reports using established protocols.
• Uses RIS/PACS for information retrieval to respond to inquiries.
• Provides basic PACS/RIS/PowerScribe support.
• Assist Radiologist, IDS staff, referring physicians and others with troubleshooting issues.
• Reconciles level 1 errors in PACS QC program and responds to tickets in a timely manner.
• Audits Pending Lists to ensure reports are completed.
• Burns CD copies for outside requests.
• Adhere to HIPAA and ROI guidelines; maintain patient confidentiality.
• Imports images from outside facilities
• Returns outside films per procedures.
• Maintains proficiency in all computer functions (RIS, PACS, QC, email).
• Performs other duties as assigned.
